SUPREME COURT OF OHIO
Administrative Director (1999 - present)
- Serves as the chief operating officer of the highest court in Ohio
- Responsible for establishing the long-term vision, values and direction of the Court, in collaboration with the Chief Justice and Justices of the Court
- Acts as the chief liaison between the Justices and the administrative staff of the Court, overseeing the daily operation of the Court's eight divisions, including 15 offices and sections, and more than 260 employees
- Responsible for preparing and implementing the $130 million annual Judiciary/Supreme Court budget, including the operational budget of the Supreme Court, the salaries of more than 700 judges, 88 elected clerks of court, and 275 courts of appeals employees in the state
- Serves as the chief liaison between the Supreme Court and its numerous constituencies, including six judges' associations, the Ohio Judicial Conference, leaders of the Ohio General Assembly and various state and local bar associations
- Presents final analysis and recommendations to the Court regarding rules of practice and procedure in Ohio courts, including the Rules of Superintendence for Ohio Courts
COURT OF APPEALS OF OHIO
SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT
Administrator/Staff Counsel (1995 - 1999)
- Responsible for the daily operation of one of 12 appellate courts in the state
- Served as special master on matters requiring findings of fact and conclusions of law
- Reviewed original actions filed with the court and prepared decisions and entries
- Responsible for reviewing all decisions for content and legal analysis prior to release
- Responsible for hiring and supervision of all staff, including 11 attorneys and eight clerical employees
- Served as spokesman for the court with representatives from news organizations

- Engaged in private practice of law with AV rated firm, primarily in general civil and transactional matters, including representing financial institutions in real estate, banking regulation, secured transaction, collection, and creditor bankruptcy matters, and private clients in probate and estate planning matters
- Served as primary administrative attorney for the firm, including rewriting employee manual, supervising personnel, hiring staff, and serving as the liaison with the firm's accountants, and reviewing monthly budgets and payroll

- Responsible for chairing hearing panels and preparing written reports to the Court on ethical actions filed against judges and attorneys throughout the state
