Court Interpreter Certification Program

Candidates interested in applying for court interpreter certification must submit a nonrefundable application fee along with their application. In addition to the application fee, candidates must pay the examination fee, which includes a two-day orientation training coordinated by the Interpreter Services Program. Ohio residents will pay a total of $175 (non-residents $225). The cost includes the application fee, written examination fee, the orientation training, materials and training meals. Candidates who have obtained certification in other states, through the Federal Court Interpreter Certification Examination, Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or other entities may apply for reciprocity. Please see Superintendence Rule 81(J) and Rule 82 for eligibility.
