*Primary limits apply only if the judicial candidate has a contested primary. If there is no contested primary, the general election limits apply throughout the permissible fundraising period.
Effective Date
The changes in the contribution limits adopted by the Supreme Court on Dec. 15, 2008 are effective Jan. 1, 2009 and apply to judicial candidates who campaign for judicial offices that will appear on the ballot in calendar year 2009 and subsequent years. The contribution limits in effect prior to Jan. 1, 2009 apply to fundraising on behalf of judicial candidates who campaigned for judicial offices that appeared on the ballot in 2008.
