More than 270 Applicants Pass February 2011 Bar Exam
The Supreme Court of Ohio today released the results of the February 2011 Ohio Bar Examination, which was administered in Columbus Feb. 22-24.
Out of 397 applicants, 277 applicants (69.77 percent) received passing scores; out of 226 first-time applicants, 85.84 percent received passing scores. This year’s February bar exam results for all test-takers compare favorably to previous years, which saw 65.6 percent receiving passing scores in 2010, 61.2 percent in 2009, 65.5 percent in 2008, 63.2 percent in 2007 and 64.4 percent in 2006.

The oath of office will be administered to applicants who were successful on the examination and who have satisfied all of the Supreme Court’s other requirements for admission. The oath will be administered during a special public session of the Supreme Court at 2 p.m., Monday, May 9, at The Ohio Theatre, 39 E. State St., Columbus.
Article IV, Section 2(B)(1)(g) of the Ohio Constitution grants the Supreme Court exclusive jurisdiction to regulate admission to the practice of law in Ohio. Among other duties, the Office of Bar Admissions of the Supreme Court oversees the admissions process.
